Everything you need to run the clock — and the tournament

PokerTD is a free, browser-based poker tournament director built around a TV-ready blind timer. Set your structure, start the clock, show the room what's happening, and keep payouts honest — without installing software or creating an account.

A blind clock that hosts can actually run

PokerTD is built for the person standing next to the felt with a laptop or phone — not for a casino floor suite. The timer keeps the room on the same page: current level, time remaining, blinds, antes, and what's coming next.

Structures you control

  • Build or adjust blind levels with small blind, big blind, and ante values.
  • Schedule breaks so the clock and the kitchen stay in sync.
  • Change levels while the night is live when the table runs hot or slow.
  • Keep the overview visible: entries, prize pool, buy-in, chip averages, and players remaining.

You stay in charge of the structure. PokerTD keeps it readable for everyone else.

Payouts that update with the tournament

When entries, buy-ins, and places paid are set, PokerTD can calculate a payout structure so hosts aren't doing napkin math between hands.

Use it to:

  • Reflect the current prize pool as the field fills.
  • Show places paid clearly on the tournament display.
  • Avoid “who gets paid what?” debates at the end of the night.

Payouts are part of the same on-device tournament view as the clock — not a separate spreadsheet you have to remember to open.

Hear the level change without watching the screen

PokerTD can use your browser's built-in speech synthesis (speechSynthesis) for voice announcements — useful when the room is loud, the TV is across the living room, or the host is dealing.

Turn voice on when you want audible level cues; leave it off for quiet home games. No extra app install required — it uses the browser you already have.

Put the clock where the table can see it

Fullscreen

Go fullscreen on the device running PokerTD so blinds and time dominate the screen — ideal for a laptop propped at the end of the table.

Cast to TV / dual display

Use Cast to TV (or your device's dual-display setup) to put the tournament clock on a living-room TV or second monitor while you keep controls on the host device.

That's the core “TV-ready” story: one browser session, a display the whole room can read, and a host who isn't repeating “what are the blinds?” every orbit.

Your tournament stays in the browser

Core PokerTD use stores tournament state in the browser's localStorage. That means:

  • No signup required to run a timer, structure, and payouts.
  • Tournament data is kept on the device you're using — not uploaded as a cloud league database.
  • Refresh-friendly for a typical home-game session on the same browser/profile.

Privacy, honestly: If you send feedback through the product, that may hit a feedback API. The site may also use analytics (for example Vercel Analytics) for aggregate traffic — not as a place where your blind structure is “synced to the cloud.” PokerTD does not claim cloud sync, multi-device league accounts, or a native mobile app as core product.

Built for hosts, not casino ops software

PokerTD is for:

  • Home games that need a clear clock and a fair payout table.
  • Friendly clubs / recurring nights that want a consistent display without buying Windows tournament software.
  • Charity and social tournaments where the host's job is the clock, not a full player CRM.

It is an instant host tool — open the site, set the tournament, run the night. It is not a casino floor suite, seating balancer, or league management platform.

FAQ

Is PokerTD free?

Yes. Core tournament director use — timer, structures, payouts, voice, fullscreen / Cast — is free in the browser with no signup required.

Do I need to download software?

No. PokerTD runs in a modern browser. Use fullscreen or Cast to TV when you want a living-room display.

Does PokerTD sync my tournament to the cloud?

No cloud sync is claimed for core use. Tournament state is stored in browser localStorage on your device. Feedback submissions and site analytics (if present) are separate from “saving your league in the cloud.”

Can I use PokerTD on a TV?

Yes — that's a primary use case. Run PokerTD, go fullscreen, or Cast / use a dual display so the table can see blinds and time.

Is this the same as Poker TDA or “The Tournament Director” for Windows?

No. PokerTD (pokertd.com) is an independent browser product. It is not affiliated with the Poker Tournament Directors Association (pokertda.com) or the Windows software “The Tournament Director” (thetournamentdirector.net). See About.
